What I got for Christmas 2014

Hello!

Today I thought I'd show you what I got for Christmas. First of all, the usual disclaimer, I am not trying to brag or show off. I genuinely enjoy seeing what people have received for Christmas (it's the nosiness inside of me). These are all the things I received from my parents.  I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and got everything that you'd hoped for. I also hope you spend lots of time with your family.

First of all I received 3 books, (expect reviews on my other blog shortly). First of all, I got 'Fangirl' by Rainbow Rowell. I read the blurb of this a while ago and thought it sounded quite good so now I can't wait to read this. Secondly, I got the controversial 'Girl Online' by Zoe Sugg. Regardless of what people may think of her now, I still enjoy her videos and blog and her book sounded like one I would enjoy, so therefore I got it. Lastly for books, I got 'eleanor & park', again by Rainbow Rowell. I hadn't looked at this book before but after reading the blurb, it sounds really good!

In the beauty department, I received the No7 complete cleansing set. This contains a night moisturiser, cleansing gel and clarasonic type of face brush. My skin has been awful recently so I cannot wait to use this. Secondly. I got the Phil Smith shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo is called 'Big it Up' and is volumising and the conditioner is specifically for blondes. Then I got the New Look 'Pure Touch' perfume. This smells really nice and fresh, expect a review soon. Lastly I got the Jack Wills lip pencils which I cannot wait to try.

In the clothes/accessories department I got some new pyjamas from New Look which I love the design of. I also got this dress from Avon that is fleecy and so snuggly! Great for the cold winter nights!

I got a necklace from TU that has an owl on it and a tassel thing which is super cute and I can't wait to wear it. I also got a bracelet with a bow on it which I am wearing now - love it! And lastly I got some earrings which I adore! They are 3 stars together, 2 of the stars are sparkly silver and the other is black, I have them in now and I love them!

For random bits and bobs I got a new scrapbook from Paperchase as I had finished my old one. I got a weekly planner which will come in very handy and a cute little penguin! I can't decide what to call him though, leave any suggestions below!

Finally, these could be my favourite presents. I received some Sony headphones which I am loving. The sound quality is so much better than in ear headphones; they're seriously great. And lastly I got an Anker bluetooth speaker. I am currently listening to music on it now. I absolutely love it! The sound is great quality, it looks cool and is easily portable.

That's what I received for Christmas. I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and that you had lots of fun with your families. I had a very different Christmas this year which I may do a post on! Stay tuned!

These are a Few of My Favourite...Blogs

Hey guys!

Today I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite blogs, the blogs I read everyday and love. I love each and every one of these blogs.

Molly's blog is a fairly recent discovery of mine, but I love her blog! Molly has a mix of lifestyle posts and her blog design is gorgeous (like her)! If you haven't seen her blog, please check it out, you won't regret it!

Khila is the most hard working blogger and Youtuber, she puts so much time and effort into what she does. There is always something new on one of her many blogs and Youtube channels. If you're a fan of budget beauty or fashion than Khila's blog is the place for you!

Another fairly recent discovery. I love Chloe's blog, it has just the right blend of fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Her posts are always so interesting to read and I love how she writes everything! Throw in some gorgeous photography and you've got one of my favourite blogs!

Autumn Leaves
Rebecca's blog is the blog to go to if you need post inspiration, helpful links, blog help and beauty. As a fairly new blogger, Autumn Leaves has seriously helped me set up my blog. I even found out about the #bbloggers chat through her. If you're not following this blog then you're missing out big time!

First of all the photography on this blog is AMAZING! I don't know how Fee manages to make her photos look so good, I have serious photo envy! Fee's blog focuses mainly on beauty, she has great in-depth reviews, beauty bargains and more. If you're not following, you're missing out!

Thanks for reading! What are your favourite blogs?

Falling With... Tash

(Image taken from Molly Louise Blogs)

1- If you could fall for one of your eyebrows, which would it be?

Left, it always shapes/ looks better. It just sits nicer.

2- If a celebrity could fall for you, who would you want it to be?

Oooh, it would either be Mike Parr, Matty Healy or Bradley James. I love them all!

3- If you could fall and land anywhere on earth, where would it be?

Australia for sure! I love the accents and I think it would be such a cool place to visit.

4- If you could fall into a jukebox and have to listen to 1 song on repeat for the rest of your life what would it be?

Now, this is a hard question, I love different songs at different times. At the moment, I'm loving 'Killing of a Flashboy' by Suede. So for now, I'd listen to that.

5- If you could fall into any movie, what one would it be?

I don't really watch movies that much and don't really have a favourite. Maybe Sleeping Beauty as I wanted to be her when I was little.

6- If you could fall back in time, where would you go?

Maybe the 80's or 90's, or if we're talking really far back, Tudor times. I have a fascination with the era (as does my mum).

7- If you could fall and hit your head losing one memory, what memory would you like to lose?

I haven't really hard that bad a memory, maybe I'd like to lose the memory where I stuck a hama bead up my nose and had to go to hospital to get it out.

8- If you could fall into any season and stay there all year round, what would it be?

Spring, I like when everything starts to get brighter and lighter, plus you can still wear jumpers but you can also wear dresses.

9- If you were to fall into trouble, what would it be for?

Probably saying something sarcastic to somebody and them taking it the wrong way...

10- If you were to fall into a million pounds/dollars/whatever currency and could only spend it in one store, what would it be?

This is hard as well, I'd cheat and say Selfridges. You could buy a lot in there and get a variety of things.

I TAG...

Anybody who wants to do this tag!

Style Icon: Fearne Cotton // Teen Blog Series

Hey guys!

Teen Bloggers Anouska Millar and Beth have decided to start a project called #TeenBlogSeries. Its aim is to bring together lots of the teens/young adults in the blogging community. For the next ten consecutive weeks, over 80 bloggers will be writing every Monday at 6:30pm about many different things, all beauty, lifestyle or fashion related. You can view everyones posts by going to the hashtag on twitter "TeenBlogSeries". If you would like to get involved email: anouskateenblogger@googlemail.com

My style icon (and hairspiration) is Fearne Cotton. I love her sense of style, I always try and work a bit of Fearne into either my clothes, hair or makeup. I love how she can wear a pretty, girly dress and then toughen it up with a leather jacket and boots; it's exactly the kind of thing I love! Below are some of my favourite outfits that she's worn. I love how she can use colour to brighten up a look yet she still manages to keep that edge. She loves a bit of grunge and darkness, like myself, yet she still uses colour. It's exactly the kind of look I aim for in my day to day life.

This is an outfit I wore whilst I was out with my family for a meal. I would say it's got a hint of Fearne about it. I paired black skinny jeans (Primark) and a black and white stripy blouse (also Primark). I then added boots (unknown) and a leather jacket (USC) to toughen the look up and then finally finished it off with a gold statement necklace (New Look). My hair is also slightly like Fearne's. I waved it with my straighteners to get a slightly beachy/wavy yet messy vibe.

On a sad note, this is the last proper blog post from the #TeenBlogSeries and I have really enjoyed writing these posts. They've been so much fun to put together and they have helped me get my blogging motivation back! Woop Woop!

Hope you've enjoyed reading my posts! Who's your style icon?

Beauty Tips & Tricks // Teen Blog Series

Today I thought I'd share with you my top 10 beauty tips and tricks! Enjoy, I hope they help you out!

1. Apply nail varnish to the free edge of your nail. This helps to prevent your nail varnish from chipping.

2. Apply concealer in a triangle under your eyes. This helps cover your circles better.

3. Drink plenty of water for clear skin, I started doing that this holiday and my gosh have I noticed a difference. My skin looks and feels so much healthier and brighter.

4. To make a gel eyeliner, heat up a pencil using a hairdryer for a few seconds, let it cool for a couple of seconds and et voila, one gel eyeliner!

5. Place natural yoghurt on a spot to help get rid of it.

6. Use a chapstick to soothe and hydrate a dry nose.

7. Apply dry shampoo at night, this lets it be fully absorbed/ worked into the hair. It also adds volume.

8. Apply perfume to the inside of your wrist, base of throat, behind your ear, inside elbow and behind knee. This makes it last longer.

9. Always have a cotton bud handy when doing winged eyeliner.

10. Use your ring finger when doing anything around your eyes. It uses the least pressure and is therefore better for your delicate skin.

Balancing Blogging with School // Teen Blog Series

Hey guys!

Teen Bloggers Anouska Millar and Beth have decided to start a project called #TeenBlogSeries. Its aim is to bring together lots of the teens/young adults in the blogging community. This week we're talking about juggling school and blogging. I must admit that I am pretty bad at this at times. Sometimes it is near impossible to manage all of the homework/coursework and find time to take blog photos, edit them and write the posts and still have a social life! It's hard work!

My blogs will probably take a back seat in the next 2 years as I will be focusing on my GCSE's - I have to put my full attention on them to do well. I'll always love blogging and will always come back, but for me, balancing blogging and school is pretty darn hard!

Some of the things I do to help save time are take loads of pictures all at once! This means that you have loads of posts photos taken all at the same time and don't have to take each posts photos individually. Also, take loads of photos, never take just one, 9 times out of 10 you won't like it.

If you need to edit your photos, edit them all at the same time. This saves time. Upload your photos to the right posts at the same time. This helps me massively! I can take the photos, edit them and then upload them to the correct posts. I never have to worry about losing the photo as it's already on the post.

If school work takes over completely then think about getting some guest bloggers so that your blog still has some content on it, or if school work takes over write a post explaining why you might not be posting. Lots of bloggers have been there themselves so will probably understand how hard it is. I certainly do, I find it hard to balance projects, regular homework and blogging each week extremely hard work!

Lastly, holidays are great times to write blog posts. As I write this it's the 29th August. You have more time on your hands to get posts written and scheduled. Sometimes I aim to write a term's worth of posts in the holiday so it's like I have written a post each week. For example 7 week term, I write 7 posts in the holidays. Each week one of those posts is published. Then the next holiday comes around and you do the same. This means you can do your school work without having to worry about blogging.

Those are my tips for balancing school and blogging, I should probably follow my own tips as, like I say, I am useless at this!

What do you do to keep on top of blogging, school and life?

Autumn Fashion Staples // Teen Blog Series

Autumn Fashion Staples

Autumn Fashion Staples by tashtastic featuring black boots

Welcome to my autumn fashion staples, I am aware that everything is monochrome but recently I have been adding more grunge to my look. I own a lot of this stuff and have been wearing them constantly; I still like to add a pop of colour to my looks, but these are my autumn staples for 2014.

£6.99 - newlook.com

A black t-shirt, I didn't actually own a black t-shirt in my wardrobe but now I do own one it has become a staple. I can dress it up or down, can add it to a monochrome outfit or put it with a colourful outfit.

£6.99 - newlook.com

Much like the black top, I didn't own a white t-shirt. I don't know how I lived without a white top. It has become a staple, I can wear it with black skinny jeans and a scarf or underneath things.

£42.00 topshop.com

I don't own these trousers but I own ones from Primark that have the same print (£8, much cheaper than these Topshop ones). I can wear these leggings with a black or white top and they make a subtle yet powerful statement (I think anyway).

£24.99 - hm.com

I don't own these boots yet but I hope to by the time this post goes up. Boots are my absolute favourite shoes, I would wear them all year round if I could. I go back into them as early as possible (August). As I say, I've been adding more grunge to my outfits and I feel like these boots really complete the look.

£16.50 - usc.co.uk

As soon as I saw this jacket it was love! It fits like a glove and instead of being the conventional black it's navy. This instantly toughens up an outfit and I like to wear it with cute summer dresses to instantly add an edge to an outfit.

Skinny Jeans - Primark
£11

You can get black skinny jeans from anywhere but until recently I'd never owned a pair of black skinny's. You can wear them with absolutely everything and they look very cool. Complete fashion staple, not just autumn!

Those are all my autumn fashion staples, what are yours?

Skincare Must Haves for Teens // Teen Blog Series

Hey guys!

Teen Bloggers Anouska Millar and Beth have decided to start a project called #TeenBlogSeries. Its aim is to bring together lots of the teens/young adults in the blogging community. Welcome to another post in the #Teenblogseries. Today we're talking skincare. As a teenager your skin can cause you a lot of trouble. Here are 4 of my favourite things to help my skin stay in tip top condition.

1. Lip balm (Nivea Lip Butter) - I am a complete and utter lip balm junkie. I love the stuff. This is by far my favourite night time/intense lip balm. It smells amazing and leaves my lips feeling incredibly nourished and healthy. You never want to go out with dry, chapped lips, it's not very attractive and this lip balm makes that a thing of the past. Plus, it's super cheap and doesn't break the bank!

2. Spot Cream (Freederm Fast Track Spot Cream) - When those pesky spots do rear their ugly heads you definitely need a spot cream to help you keep them at bay. This is one of my favourites - as soon as I feel a spot coming on, or think one will appear in the next couple of days, I slather this on to stop the spots. It's a life saver and I honestly don't know what I would do without it! If you don't have one, I highly suggest you get one! It's helped me out so many times!
3. Night Moisturiser (Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturiser) - I have quite oily skin, especially at night so I like to use a more intense, oil free moisturiser. I really like this one as it's incredibly light and quick to absorb, yet it still gives my skin an injection of moisture that it needs at the end of the day. It also supposedly helps keep spots at bay, so it works super well with a spot cream.

4. Day Moisturiser (Simple Protecting Moisture Cream) - This is my favourite moisturiser at the moment. It absorbs so quickly into the skin (it's great when you're running late for school), hydrates my skin and it also contains SPF 30, which is great to stop you from getting any sun damage, even in the winter. It's also designed for sensitive skin so it doesn't irritate or cause any redness.

Those are my 4 skincare saviours for teenage skin. I hope you find something that helps your skin out! Thanks for reading!

Stuffed Red Peppers // Teen Blog Series

Hello!

Welcome to the 4th #TeenBlogSeries post. Today's topic is a healthy food recipe. I have been trying over the summer to get healthier (it's kind of working) and today I thought I'd share with you a meal that I have been eating a lot; it's filling, quick and healthy!

These are incredibly simple to do. Trust me, if I can make them without messing them up then you can too!

1. Slice off the top of the red pepper
2. Take out the seeds from the inside.
3. Make your cous cous; you can use any type that you like. It really doesn't matter
4. Spoon your cous cous into the pepper. (You can add mushrooms or other vegetables into the cous cous if you wish).

5. Place the red peppers in the oven for roughly 20 minutes of 180°C.
6. Take out of the oven and serve.

Et voila! Done, I told you it was simple! Enjoy your stuffed red peppers!

Favourite Highstreet Shop and Picks // Teen Blog Series

Highstreet Picks

Highstreet Picks by tashtastic featuring short sleeve shirts

My favourite highstreet store is without a doubt, New Look! I would say that 90% of my clothes are from there. I just love that shop - they always have something that I like and the prices are decent. I cannot express my love for it enough - I seriously think I keep it in business alone, hahah!

Above are some things that I own and that I am loving wearing at the moment. I recently came back off holiday (or I did as I write this) and I wore all this stuff a lot! They were very versatile and I recommend you get something like this stuff.

£17.99 - newlook.com

A denim shirt is now a STAPLE in my wardrobe. It goes with everything, I can wear it open or closed or even as a jacket. Plus I got this for £2.99 - it was the best £2.99 I ever spent! I get so much wear out of it. It will be great at the start of autumn/end of summer when it's warm, but you still need something to cover you up.

£12.99 - newlook.com

This shirt is one of my favourites in my wardrobe. I love wearing shirts like these in the winter as I can wear them with jumpers and have the little collars poking out.

£12.99 - newlook.com

These are my statement shorts. I wore these when I went on holiday and I loved them. They are super bright which I loved. I'm going to be wearing these in the autumn winter with tights and boots. They'll add a real kick to any outfit. This is me wearing them on holiday.

£2.99 - newlook.com

I was never sold on the headband/headscarve faze, but I saw these and thought what the hell, I'll give them a go. They make a summer outfit look really cute and girly and I've been loving wearing them with loose beachy waves. I used to be obsessed with heandbands (and still own over 50), but then I stopped wearing them. I'm trying to get back into them and these are my starter point.

Skater Skirt

I love skater skirts. They're so easy to wear; you can dress them up or down. Wear them in the day or at night - the possibility's are endless (okay, maybe not endless..). A denim skater skirt is a staple, they look good with cute crop tops or you can toughen them up by wearing boots and a leather jacket. Love, love, love!

So those are my picks from New Look. I could go on but I love all these things and they are great additions to my wardrobe.

Best Foundation and Brow Routine // Teen Blog Series

Hello guys!

Welcome to the 2nd post in the Teen Blog Series. Today we're talking about brows and foundation! I must admit that I don't do much to either areas of my face. My eyebrows are relatively thick (ish) and my skin is generally pretty good.

These are what my brows look like after I have finished doing them. It literally takes me 2 minutes to achieve this as I barely do anything to them.

These are the products I use for my eyebrows, I use a spooly and a cheap clear mascara. First of all I brush through my eyebrows with the spooly and then I go in with the clear mascara to set them into place to stop them from flying all over the place. And that's it for my brows - I really don't do a lot to them as I feel like they don't need a lot doing to them.

Now onto my foundation routine. Again I don't do a lot here. I only use my concealer and powder on an everyday basis. I use the Collection lasting perfection concealer underneath my eyes and on any spots or blemishes. I love this concealer, it stays put all day and it doesn't feel heavy at all. I then use the Miss Sporty Pressed Powder just done my T-Zone to stop my skin from turning shining throughout the day.

If I were going to use foundation then I would use the Rimmel Match Perfection. I really like this foundation as it gives a light-medium coverage that's build able. It also matches my skin tone which is very hard when you're the shade of a milk bottle all year round!

As I say I only use that foundation if I'm having an absolutely horrific skin day and I have spots all over the place. But, that doesn't happen very often at all. My skin is very good all year round, I only ever get a few little under the surface spots and occasionally one will erupt to the surface. Therefore I feel like I shouldn't wear foundation as it may clog my skin up and make me feel like I need to wear foundation.

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed finding out about my brow and foundation routine (even though it's not the most exciting). Let me know how you do your brows and foundation on an everyday basis!
